ATT Third Conference of States Parties preparatory process

To prepare for the third Conference of States Parties (CSP3) for the Arms Trade Treaty, three informal preparatory meetings will take place. CSP3 will be in Geneva from 11 to 15 September 2017.

16 February 2017

This first meeting followed a week of three ATT working group consultations, as well as a one day civil society forum. Discussion focused largely on the Voluntary Trust Fund (VTF) as well as the proposed CSP3 agenda. 

7 April 2017

The second meeting inclulded a report back from a recent universalisation mission in Asia as well as updates on applications received for the Voluntary Trust Fund. There was much discussion about the connection between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the ATT. 

1 June 2017

This meeting was an opportunity to finalise the draft programme of work for the CSP and discuss issues of sponsorship.  It was announced that nine of a shortlisted 18 projects were being awarded grants under the VTF. The three working groups reported back on what they had discussed in their respective meetings over the previous few days.
