Group of Governmental Experts on autonomous weapons initiates its work for 2024

On Monday, 4 March 2024, the Group of Governmental Experts (GGE) on autonomous weapon systems, which operates under the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons (CCW) in Geneva, began its work for 2024. The first session will run from 4-8 March, followed by another session in late August. Participants in the GGE will be commenting on draft text for elements of a normative and operation instrument on autonomous weapons that has been compiled from submissions from high contracting parties to the CCW in response to the Chair's guiding questions for this session.
