WILPF's submission to the CEDAW Committee on Trafficking in Women and Girls in the Context of Global Migration

The Committee for the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women is crafting a general recommendation on trafficking in women and girls in the context of global migration. It put out a call for comments on its first draft of the general recommendation with the attached submission.

WILPF provided comments and drafting recommendations with regard to neoliberalism and macro-economic reform policies; militarism, foreign military bases, and arms transfers; states’ extraterritorial human rights obligations, and states’ due diligence obligations in relation to acts or omissions by companies. We hope these suggestions are taken into consideration as the CEDAW Committee continues its work.
