Final meetings of open-ended working group on nuclear disarmament are underway
On 5 August 2016, the open-ended working group (OEWG) to take forward nuclear disarmament negotiations began its final set of meetings in Geneva. On 16 October, states discussed the revised draft report. The majority of states reiterated their support for the inclusion of a recommendation on starting a process in 2017 to prohibit nuclear weapons.
