ATT Second Conference of States Parties preparatory process

In the lead up to the second Conference of States Parties (CSP2) for the Arms Trade Treaty, a series of informal consultations are being held to address the agenda as well as administrative and financial modalities of the conference. CSP2 will take place in Geneva from 22 to 26 August 2016.

4 April 2016, Geneva

States parties and signatories discussed the draft agenda for CSP2, which was produced by Ambassador Imohe of Nigeria and the Bureau. Read Reaching Critical Will's report of the consultation.

28 April 2016, Geneva

States parties and signatories discussed the updated CSP2 draft agenda items, the CSP2 provisional programme of work, the preparatory process timelines, and the recruitment process for the permanent head of the Secretariat. States parties and signatories discussed Treaty implementation and Treaty universalisation, especially in relation to the draft paper on treaty implementation and the draft President's paper on treaty universalisation. Part of the meeting was also dedicated to discussion of issues related to the Voluntary Trust Fund.
